Bye Bye Planet Pluto

(I jus watched the documentary..)

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.

Nahh.. We dun learn them in Singapore. Cos they are not helpful in corporate sense.

On August 24, 2006, according to the newly passed rule, Pluto was demoted from planetary status to a dwarf planet and is accompanied by Ceres and 2003 UB313 in this category.

2003 UB313 sounds very Star Trek dun u think?

But, who gives them the right to name/rename/promote/demote the objects in space?

Maybe IF there's some other highly intelligent forms living on other sections of universe (which might not need sunlight or air or wat-so-ever to survive, and could be minute to the human eyes), perhaps all the objects in the universe would have been discovered and named something else already.

This all, is jus human branding.

BUT THEN, since there's only eight planets now, wat will happen to astrology/horoscope charts?

Rewrite?

Books

I'm a professional book-munching worm. Although I think I dun freaking look like one.

Or do I? Cos I always come out of the salon with nerdy hairstyles.

Anyway, I've ate thru different genres of books since young. When I was in primary sch, I'll scrimp or pester ppl to buy Bookworms for me. Ya its those thin, B3-sized storybooks dat comes out every week, or fortnight, and dat costs $5. Dats like twice the cost of a manga in those days. The short stories depicts the mischievous Sam Seng, the fat Porky, the smart Smarty, the tomboy Simone, and I cant remember the rest. There's a Fatimah or Minah here, Louie there, etc etc. I have abt 50-100 of those, some of which were even plastic-ed nicely by dunno-who (shld be my mum, or my aunt, cant be me).

Every textbook-buying season is a wonderful time for me. Cos I have new books to read. Seriously, I can be so bookworm to read the textbooks. Those Weimings, and dunno wat other names.

But must remember in those days, we do not have as much holiday homework as the kids nowadays.

Then in my upper primaries, I got hooked on Famous Five while others were reading Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys. Got Julian rite, got Dick rite, cannot remember anymore. Oh! I Yahoo-ed the names. Julian, Dick, Anne, George (is a girl) and Timmy the dog. I was a librarian in those days.. no wait. How come I cant remember how the library looks like? Too long.. Too long..

Anyway, during the craze period, I aspired to read the entire collection of Famous Five (I think I din complete all but I did read most). Personally I only have 6 books of so in my cupboards cos its even more expensive than Bookworms. I borrowed the books from library (I dun think there's any other places to borrow) or from my cousin. My English was developed from all these storybooks. My Chinese seriously wasnt that great and I dun really have interest in it.

During my upper primaries oso, I started the ultimate addiction. Mangas. I still remember dropping by Leisure store at Boon Lay MRT everyday after school to check out for new arrivals. Now Leisure store has become a mama shop. Mangas that time was abt $3 or $3.20, those early days when 创艺 was jus an emerging company and mangas do not have book jackets. My 1st 10 vol of 名侦探柯南 was from that time. Its now a freaking 54 vol series and no end in sight yet. After 10 over yrs.

Transitting into my secondaries, I dug thru Roald Dahls (borrowed from I-cant-remember-where again), and Enid Blytons.

With the newly-opened Jurong Point Library as a stopover on my way home, I burrowed the teenage sections for Christopher Pikes, etc. When I was in the craze of playing 金庸群侠传, I practically read thru the whole series of 金庸 novels thru my upper secondaries, from 射雕(full 3 series) to 雪山飞狐. That's partly where my Chinese power came from. (The other part is my mangas)

As I get older, the books I read become thicker. I was eating stuff like Stephen Kings and Agatha Christies in my upper secondaries. My diet included a few movie themed books like Seven, Hackers, as well. Then came John Grishams with all the thick lawyer novels after starting on The Firm (or was it Rainmaker).

I completed the Dan Brown's collection during the hype of the code. N I recently finished Memoirs of a Geisha.

I've got nothing to read now!!

'cept for a few mangas lying ard.

*On the search for 2 SG conspiracy related books which I think were banned in SG. Cant find in Popular nor Kino. Saint_Jack and The_Gift. Anyone saw them anywhere in SG?*

How many books have u read?

New PC

New PC at work! Finally with everything installed. (& IM hacked)

The stupid ergonomic keyboard..

THAT FLIPS OPEN!!

Blah, I hate the keyboard! I'm missing the conventional number pad. Keeps pressing the wrong keys or the empty space in between the 2 parts. N the screen is obviously too big. Its a freaking 19" which I had to move all my work to the bottom half of the screen to prevent ppl behind me from spying.

But its a cool black machine!

Crocs Invasion

I hate crocs.

I call them the Ronald McDonald shoe.

With the holes, I cant keep fishes in my shoes anymore when it floods! With the oversized toes, I cant get blisters anymore!

Duh! I jus hate them.

But I'm surrounded by ppl who wears/loves them. Its a scary invasion/brainwash of the Singaporean mind. I see them in most shoe shops, like the basket after a good harvest. I see them in RSH, hanging on their display stands. I see them EVERY, FREAKING, WHERE.

My ah ma has 4 pairs. For 2 regular occupants. N I, somehow or another, has a pair. Without me asking for a pair. 0.0

The guy in front of me at work wears them on fridays.

I hate them!!

*yes yes yes, I noe they're comfy. I HATE THE DESIGN!!!!*

I'm having nitemares of them. Help!!

Sidenote: My bro pulled me to watch fireworks. These r like the 2 nicest pics I had. I have bad timings. N damn the auntie squeezing in with the stupid balloon that I had to avoid. GRR! I felt like bursting the balloon. INCONSIDERATE PPL!

Aik Cheong Allergy

OMG!

I think I'm developing an allergy to Aik Cheong.

Ya its that super thick milk tea.

Either its lowering my blood pressure (already low), or caffinating me.

I dun feel good after drinking it, EVERYTIME.

I feel like I wanna puke. AFTER drinking it.

N long term staring at the monitor, renders me to an even more pukable mode.

For dramatic effects

I feel faint.

My chest feels tight.

I cant breathe.

HELP!!

Drifted Away

Sorry I'm not into engine dronings and gear crankings.

TOKYO DRIFT IS DAMN BORING!!!

Heehee..

No cute guys to cover the Initial D-like plot. Y the good-looking referee only appear for LESS THAN A MIN!?!?

The camera viewpoint is bad. I cant feel any speed. Too much driftings. 1 line of drifting cars? eeyyeerrr.. resembles earthworm crawling.

The soundtrack sucks also.

Cars? I only like Imprezas and Lancers.

Perhaps I shld've listened to the Today critics...

We busted Danny's pockets at No Sign Board Seafood. (Hey it wasnt me who ordered the stuff! *acts innocent*)

Taking the sauces for fun

The Feast

Brighter Shot

White Pepper Crab

The Chilli crab n White Pepper crab are nice! Same goes for the very "bor" Drunken Prawns.

The Aftermath

The Remains

Local Area Destruction

The Environment

The Receipt

Somehow or another, we were shortcharged 1 crab. WOW TANG DIO!

After the meal, which is actually not really filling since we din get rice or noodles, we walked from Esplanade to Suntec's Ben & Jerry's, making pit stops here and there at the toys section in Suntec.

Merlionmonster?

This is a 6-scoop Earthquake kinda thing, they have a 20-scoop version which is like.. $80. Unless there's like 10 over ppl lah. I like the mint-dunno-wat flavor. N I thot I ordered the Phish thing? Couldnt differentiate from the mess.

Entertainment Centre Atrium

This pic, these words, looks like People's Park Complex. Ahahha. Its in Suntec ok!

Oh we got Danny a Casio watch for less than $100. Hehehe. TANG DIO! But he likes it a lot, suits him rather well. *grinz*
